Sex and the Thickies

Most girlie cam sites are blocked in the Philippines. That means you don’t get to see what we can see. You don’t see how the sites are advertised though the same publicity is enough in itself to get them blocked by even the most basic ‘kiddie protecting’ software.

‘Cyber Hookers’, ‘Cyber Prostitutes’, ‘Girls that will do anything for a few bucks’, ‘Easy-girls in the webcam world’…’next step is your ticket here…..Where they are cheap and easy ‘ (endquote)

If you feel that this might give the impression that your women are ready to submit to any and all sexual pastimes for the price of a loaf of bread then sorry, that is EXACTY the impression we are being sold here.

Now why are these sites and bars so popular? Well, for one thing you wont find any ‘bars’ over here. None that the average Joe could afford anyway. And even then, they operate via a legal loophole small enough to strangle an ant.

Who goes to these places? Well, not enough because they don’t last so long.

Now, take a half-responsible job over here and you sign a contract that includes the clause ‘not engage in any activity that will bring the company or its affiliates in to disrepute.’

That is pretty far reaching and it’s a good idea to take note unless you count buttons in a warehouse. Even then its best too keep your girlie calendar behind the common-room door.

Ever employed a prostitute? Not a good idea to let your family know. Not because your wife will (at best) banish you to the dog kennel for eternity (if she thinks anything of you) and the rest of the family will see something missing. They will want to know why. They will want to know how long it took you to get where you did…and how they failed. Did they fail you? Only you know that.

But it was just a ‘quickie’ wasn’t it? Well friend, jumping off a cliff is ‘just a quickie’ and it’s what you just did. Don't rationalise on this one, get caught and lot of doors will close on you.

If your employer or, god forbid, his clients find out and your career ends here buddy. This is as high as you get. The people who would promote you are now compromised by your actions. Not for what you did but because you were stupid enough to get caught or stupid enough to believe people don’t care…. They do you see.

Unfaithful to family does not bode well in the ‘faithful to company’ stakes.

Why do I say this? I have made a good number of trips to Asia. I love it there and Id live there tomorrow if I could. When people ask ‘Where have you been?’ And I tell them…the expression on their faces tells all.

‘He’s been to Asia.’ Wink wink, nudge nudge.

It doesn’t matter that I spend my days under water, in boats, with family, sponsoring kids through college, cleaning sewage systems (yes I have). All they see is a man that ‘has been to Asia’.

Its not the reputation you think you have…. It’s the one you really do have. Sorry Philippines but it ain’t good. ‘The whoreouse of Asia’ as described by not a few.

But it was not my experience. I have met enough of you to know the reality is different. Hard working, bright, intelligent people with a better sense of right and wrong than most. Education-wise you are being p*ssed on big time.

Your country is being sold to people (mostly men) that like to sit in front of a computer screen playing with themselves. Now I am not averse to a pretty smile or nice turn of leg and if the attraction was enough I had no problems walking up to said lady and finding out more. I can put my best foot forward, turn the ‘charm factor’ up to max and maybe get a date. Maybe she only gets to see ‘Mr Charm’ and I only get to see ‘Miss Perfect’ but the real person is also there and the field of discovery is open.

Spending time in front of a computer screen, looking up girls (and not a few young girls either) suggests a lot of things about said punter. Seems that reality isn’t good enough for a start. Body more important than the person? Absolutely, you are seeing someone selling sex after all. Fall in love? Get a life pal.

The cultural differences are VAST. There is a whole set of values you haven’t even guessed at yet and if you cant make it here then there is no hope for you over there.

Do I want my daughter/sister to meet one of these guys? Do I have to answer that?

Do you really want a whole generation of young women believing that men are only ever interested in sex? Truth is that most of us are very interested in sex…its great but not an obsession. I speak for most Western men here and we would like to bring our family over but we don’t want our kids asking what those bars are for. (We can block the sites easily enough)

That’s a whole generation of young women that believe they are ‘over the hill’ at 25…positively geriatric in this trade.

Do I need to go in to the subject of ‘self esteem’, ‘self worth’, ‘career potential’, ‘country benefit potential’? You are watching a whole bunch of young people that will enter their late 20s with the belief that life is over because they are not as pretty as they were. And of course, along with the young women will come a generation of young men that believe the same thing. Young men with another reason for leaving their still young wives and family for younger, prettier models. You don’t want that, believe me, you don’t want it, it’s happening here and it isn’t nice at all.

Stop the Cams?

No, I didn’t say that. I didn’t say it was immoral either. I didn’t say it was wrong. What I am saying is that you don’t want what will follow. You cannot afford what it is costing you.

Most girls do this work because they need the money. They need the money because Filipino’s have a very strong love of family and sense of loyalty that stands as an example to us all. Chances are that family is unaware of what they do. No one is questioning motives.

Anyone who has got used to making a lot of money will tell you that when the crunch comes, its tough. Why should a girl working a cam give up her 50000 a month when the best she can hope for in another career is less than half of that? She has already been sold the idea that the work is good, not damaging in any way and is only showing what is natural to us all… Going to the bathroom is natural but I don’t see much of that in films. Like saying steak with cyanide still has lots of vitamins…right?

I didn’t say stop the cams because it won’t happen. Too much money at stake you see and you can bet the girls don’t see a fraction of it. Maybe they will become a victim of their own success when the market gets saturated.

Better still, why not start giving your kids a better future, one they can reasonably achieve, one that can give a lifetime of satisfaction? Get the education together show them that a good career is a thousand times more rewarding. And make it possible for them.

I have a couple of CVs in front of me. Bright young women and all well qualified for the job. One worked as a prostitute to pay for her studies. Wow, that speaks of dedication. One worked in front of a cam to get though college. Determination no error. One worked as a waitress and managed the same. Well done ladies.

I have no doubts about their dedication, ability to work and potential loyalty to the company. I am here to hire someone not act as confessor. But there are those further up the food chain that will be asking me why. That puts my career on the line. My career that feeds my family. Not fair is it? Life isn’t fair. It bites and bites hard.

  1. This doesn't sound like good publicity for my country but I guess this is REALITY. The kind of reality that most of us here are ignorant of or simply try to ignore for lack of interest. To each his own. After all, we are not fully aware of the extent at which this industry has cheapened or destroyed the image of our women all over the world.

Prostitution has existed since time immemorial. But with the present technology, this trade has taken a new form. Sadly though, the easy money one gets here lures even our minors.

There have been crackdowns on internet-based sex industry here and we have seen on tv the raids that were conducted on the so-called "sex dens". Surprisingly, these businesses were ran by foreign nationals who promised big money to vulnerable and needy young women. Apparently, these foreign nationals know very well what their kind needs. And the poverty-stricken young women of this country are easy prey. The bottom line is still the laws of supply and demand, Phil.

I'm sure this industry is not monopolized by our women. But this does not justify its existence either.

Hopefully, this blog could make the difference that it aims to achieve.

  2. From coal we can produce perfumes, disinfectants, dyes, herbicides, plastics, ammonia, pharmaceuticals, antiseptics, detergents, fertilisers....the list goes on and on.

Or we can simply burn it. It’s nice to watch when burning but it does not last long.

I have deliberately avoided any 'moral' angle in the things I have said. We live in a commercial world and perhaps we should be applying the same values.

Each and every individual has the right to do as they please. Others can and will exploit that willingness.

Our governments (yes ours as well are failing) can disregard the potential benefits by not educating people. We allow others to 'burn them up' as it were. It’s nice to look at pretty girls but it’s a short-lived career for her.

It takes a lot of effort to extract all that stuff from coal but no one questions the benefits. Burning coal has benefits but it also pollutes badly when used that way.

It takes a lot of time and effort to train people but the benefits are clear for them and everyone else.

Put a girl in front of a cam for a few years and you are likely left with an individual with jaundiced views on men in general.

After all, what kind of men look at this stuff as a hobby anyway?
